Monday 21^st June to Friday 25^th June inclusive is 16 – 18 Progressing Learners week. This is an opportunity for eligible learners to enrol early and secure a place on their next course. If you are aged 16 – 18, are currently studying at the College on a full-time FE course and want to take another Full-time FE course with us in Sept 2010, then you need to talk to your tutor for initial advice and to discuss your options.

WorldSkills UK Uniformed Services Regional Heat - Thursday 6th May - Bispham Campus.

The College are delighted to be hosting the Northern heat of the WorldSkills UK competition for Uniformed Services throughout the day on Thursday 6th May at the Bispham Campus.

This prestigious event, managed by UK Skills, is one of the UK's premier set of skills competitions and will showcase the talent of some of our most energetic students from the school of Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality as well as the College facilities.

The administration and skills tests will be held in a number of venues around the College, including the hub reception, the sports hall and pitches and the avenue between the sports hall and Elswick building.

As a section of car park 1 (adjacent to the main entrance and Poulton building) will be cordoned off for the duration of the event, we ask for your understanding and encourage staff and students to car share or use alternative means of transport to assist in reducing the demand for parking on the day. Learning Resources launches its new resource discovery engine – e-Search@Blackpool and The Fylde College.

E-search will allow users to search the library catalogue, e-book collection and journal/image databases from one easy to use screen. Over the coming months additional information links will be added to create a ‘one stop shop’ for Learning Resources.

The site is currently in beta test version. If you would be interested in helping Learning Resources make the site as user friendly as possible by taking part in a usability study, please e-mail lrcs@blackpool.ac.uk.

The Graduation Ceremonies will take place on 7th and 8th July at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

Letters of invitation to the event will be sent out to potential graduates after the Easter Break. The invitation will include a web-address that will enable you to apply on-line to attend your particular ceremony.
